Our Mission FD units responded to a vehicle fire impinging on an apartment complex right off of Glasscock Rd. early this afternoon.

MFD units and personnel quickly extinguished the vehicle fire with minor fire damage to the structure.

The building was cleared of occupants, checked for fire extension, and ventilated of smoke before returning to residents.

I’m very proud of our personnel and their commitment to excellence. Keep up the good work.

πŸ”₯Mission Fire Fighters provided CPR and Stop the Bleed training to the Mission PD Explorers. This collaborative effort between the fire department and the police department is a wonderful example of promoting preparedness and enhancing the skills of future first responders.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Stop the Bleed training are critical in emergency situations where every second counts. By equipping the Mission PD Explorers with these life-saving techniques, we are empowering them to take action and potentially save lives during medical emergencies and incidents involving severe bleeding.

CPR training teaches the proper techniques of chest compressions and rescue breaths, providing crucial support to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest until professional help arrives. Stop the Bleed training, on the other hand, focuses on teaching participants how to control severe bleeding and apply appropriate pressure and tourniquets to prevent further harm.

By providing this training, the Mission Fire Department is not only equipping the Mission PD Explorers with valuable skills, but also fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration between different emergency response agencies. This cooperation enhances the overall preparedness and effectiveness of both departments in serving and protecting the community.

Want to thank Texas A&M and South Texas College Staff who presented the information. Lastly, I want to thank our Mission HR Department for coordinating and bringing this type of training to our City. It’s greatly appreciated.
