We are incredibly proud to maintain our “A” Rating that we have enjoyed since the start of the A-F Rating Accountability scores!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at SHS, and we are asking our Rattler community to come together and GO GOLD in support of the courageous children and families fighting childhood cancer.

Thursday, September 3 – Ready…Set…GO GOLD Football Game vs. Hanna at HOME
The Go Gold Foundation will be bringing our Southside Warriors to the game so that we can recognize and honor them. If you know of another childhood cancer warrior you would like us to honor, please let us know.

Monday, September 7 – 12th Annual Walk for Warriors at the Mission Event Center – Free Community Walk or register to receive a commemorative medal and shirt. Although we are off from school for Labor Day, we would love to see our Rattler families, clubs, and organizations come out wearing GOLD and supporting the fight for our warriors!

Saturday, September 26 – GO GOLD Volleyball vs. Pioneer at Pioneer
Our Lady Rattlers will also GO GOLD as they take on Pioneer. We need our Rattler community there to fill the stands and show our support at Pioneer! Again, if you know of a small warrior you would like us to honor, please let us know!

Childhood cancer affects more than the child—it impacts parents, siblings, friends, schools, and entire communities. Coming together may not take away the fight, but it reminds these warriors and their families that they do not fight alone.

This September, let’s fill our community with GOLD. We see you. We honor you. We stand with you.

We are looking for volunteers to serve on our 2026–2027 Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee and would love your involvement! Our SBDM Committee provides valuable input on our Campus Improvement Plan, professional development, budget, and general campus needs and updates. Your voice and perspective help us make decisions that best support our students and school community.

📵❤️ Rattler Families, a reminder as we begin another school year!

As we enter our second year of enforcing the personal device policy, we want to thank our students and families for their continued cooperation.

This year, Texas HB 1481 makes these restrictions state law, and we are required to follow and enforce them consistently.

We know our students can do this—they did it last year! ❤️🐍 We simply ask for everyone’s continued support as we keep phones, smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and other personal devices put away during the school day.

Our focus remains the same: fewer distractions, more learning, and student success.

Parents, please take a look at our 2026–2027 school calendar and help us make every instructional day count!

🏆 This year, we’ll be celebrating and providing incentives for students with PERFECT ATTENDANCE!

We ask that families please avoid scheduling vacations or trips during instructional days whenever possible. When students aren’t here, they aren’t learning — and every day matters.
