On August 27, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Edcouch Fire Department was dispatched to the South Angelita area in reference to a structure fire. Skyline EMS personnel immediately responded alongside fire crews to provide medical standby and support.

Upon arrival, a male subject approached EMS requesting assistance. The patient was found to be suffering from signs of smoke inhalation along with burn injuries. The Medic 39 crew quickly began treatment on scene and transported the patient to DHR Health for further evaluation and treatment.

We would like to recognize the Medic 39 crew for their quick response, immediate patient care, and professionalism during this incident.

We would also like to recognize the Edcouch Fire Department for their outstanding work extinguishing the fire and securing the scene. Great teamwork by everyone involved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the patient and his family, and we wish him a safe and speedy recovery.
