🍎 🍽️ FOOD AND MEAL ASSISTANCE: We know the federal shutdown and concerns over SNAP funding are creating stress for many in our community. As a district, we are here to support ALL of our families and want to remind you of some of the services available:
• School meals (breakfast & lunch) will continue.
• You can ALWAYS apply for free or reduced meals if your financial situation has changed.
• We've compiled a list of local food resources and information on connecting with your School Social Worker.

Rushton Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat is THIS Friday, 6-8 PM! Here are a few important updates and reminders:

💧Water Bottles - Stay hydrated while having fun! Bring your water bottles from home and we’ll have water jugs for easy refills.

🌧️ Rain or Shine - The fun goes on, no matter the weather! We’re ready to make it a great night either way.

🚗 Trunk or Treat Sign-Up - Thanks to everyone who signed up — you’re amazing! We have just 3 spots left, so if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time to jump in! Sign up at the link in bio!

🍬 Candy Monsters - Final call for candy donations! Drop off by Friday to keep the monsters (and kids!) happy.

Congratulations to Emily LeRette — our next Hawk’s Landing Parking Spot Recipient! We’re thrilled to recognize Emily for her outstanding work organizing the PTA station at the 1st Annual Oktoberfest in Mission last weekend!

If you missed the event, Emily showed up dressed to the nines in her dirndl and came fully prepared with a lineup of fun, engaging activities for our kids — from pretzel necklace making and stein relay races to a festive activity sheet. Everything was incredibly thoughtful and so well-executed. We’re beyond grateful for the time, energy, and creativity you poured into it, Emily!

Emily isn’t slowing down either — she’s already hard at work planning our Family Game Night at Rushton this January. Your dedication to these events means so much to the PTA Board, our students, and the entire Rushton community. Thank you, Emily, for all that you do!

Chat and Chew registration is officially open! Registration forms are being sent home with students this week and we’re asking that they be returned by next Monday, October 27th. There are extra forms available in the office and attached to this post if needed.

Completed forms can be returned to your classroom teacher or dropped off in the office. If you (or someone you know) is interested in leading a group, please fill out the Leader Section on the back of the form. We hope to get the program off the ground in November and can’t wait to start!
