Child Bridge offers education and support services to families looking to begin the adoption and foster process by connecting them with community and resources as they begin their foster journey. In 2022, they recruited 83 Montana families to foster children needing care within the child welfare system. The Foundation is a proud supporter of their continuing efforts to improve outcomes for youth in the foster care system throughout the state.

We find and equip foster and adoptive families for children who have suffered abuse and neglect.

The Foundation, in conjunction with Seaspan and Southern Railway of British Columbia, donated $5.527 million to establish a new Trades Foundation for Youth Program that will see the British Columbia Institute of Technology providing technical training at four high schools for in-demand skilled trades.

The Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation has a long history of supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters across Montana. These incredible organizations provide one-to-one mentoring support to youth all over Montana with the assistance of adult volunteer “Bigs” to support children ages 5 through 18 (“Littles”).
The Foundation is happy to provide support to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country in their expansion of services across Gallatin, Park, Sweet Grass, Madison, and Beaverhead Counties. If you want to get involved, head to their website to read about volunteer opportunities or check out your local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter.
You can also support them at their upcoming fundraiser, The Big One: A Two Fly Challenge on August 25th.

The Big One Fishing Derby. This event will allow guests and volunteer guides to fish the famed rivers surrounding Park and Gallatin counties.

We are thrilled that the Montana Folk Festival has been able use a matching grant made by the Foundation in conjunction with Montana Resources to encourage financial support from many other Montana businesses. We are excited to see everyone at the festival, July 14-16 in Butte.
