Missoula High Schools are hosting the AA State speech and debate tournament next weekend and are in need of volunteer judges! There are times on both Friday and Saturday. This is an awesome opportunity to see some really talented students in action!

Taxes can be daunting, especially for those new to the United States. But you can make a difference! The Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an IRS and Community-Sponsored program designed to assist low to moderate-income taxpayers with the preparation of their annual tax returns at no cost. The IRC in Missoula aims to provide newly arrived refugees and other community members with this free service! The IRC in Missoula is recruiting volunteers to serve as volunteer tax screeners, preparers, and quality reviewers.

There is no prior tax experience necessary to volunteer and IRS training is provided. This is a wonderful professional development opportunity for anyone wishing to gain tax certifications, free of charge!

Volunteers can serve a flexible schedule, offering between 3- 15 hours a week, with evening and weekend volunteering shifts available. Appointments will take place in-person at the IRC office in Missoula. Training will begin in December, with tax appointments taking place between January and April.

The UM Environmental Law Group invites you to their 19th annual fundraiser, the Biomes, Blues, and Brews. This year, they are supporting the appeal fund for Held v. State through Our Children’s Trust! The event will take place on Friday, October 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Freecycles (732 S 1st St W, Missoula, MT 59801). This is a community event, so all are welcome. Hey Missoula! It's time for one our favorite events of the year! GERMANFEST! is looking for volunteers to help out with this incredible event! This year, they expect a bigger crowd with more food, games and music. Volunteers get two tokens for each shift worked! Tokens will be good for some food, beer and wine.
