I would like to include the citizens of Mithcell in the announcement of my resignation from the Mitchell City Council, effective after the acceptance of my letter of resignation at the November 7th meeting.

I encourage the residents of Mitchell to get involved in this wonderful community. Volunteer, join a community organization, attend council meetings, VOTE, or run for public office. The city can be an amazing place when everyone does their part. We all have differing expertise, talents, and amounts of time - when we combine our contribution with everyone else's, we can do great things! Your contribution matters. Thank you for the support, encouragement, and wise counsel of so many citizens and business owners of Mitchell.

The big Splash Pad Party at Riverside Discovery Center, sponsored by Nebraskaland Tire, is just around the corner! Plan to come to the zoo on Saturday, May 27, for the splash pad’s opening day of the season, plus lots of special games, activities, contests, food, prizes, animal presentations, and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. RDC members get in free!
