The Five of Hearts survived another week, which means the Find Your Heart jackpot keeps growing!

This week, it’s up to $8,230, with plenty of chances still left to find the winning card.

If your name is drawn and you find the Five of Hearts, you’ll win half the jackpot, with the other half supporting the kids at Abbott House. Even if you don’t find it, you’ll still win 10% of the week’s sales.

And don’t forget, there’s still a Joker hiding on the board worth an extra $250.

Sales close Thursday at 4 p.m. CST, and we’ll draw our next name at 5 p.m. CST on Facebook.

The boys in our Rapid City foster home are off to a great start this school year!

After a successful first week back in the classroom, they got to enjoy some end-of-summer fun at the Central States Fair. They spent time checking out the fair, riding the rides, and making the most of one of Rapid City’s favorite summer traditions.

Turning 18 is a milestone, but for young adults aging out of foster care, it can also mean facing adulthood without a family safety net.

Abbott House Youth Services’ Independent Living Program helps bridge that gap. Young adults have access to affordable housing, ongoing support and the opportunity to build the everyday skills they need as they work toward independence.

It had been a while since our last visit to Farm Life Creamery, so we decided it was time to introduce a few more of our Mitchell girls to this local favorite!

The girls toured the farm, met plenty of furry friends and got a behind-the-scenes look at the cheese-making room. They learned how Farm Life Creamery turns milk from its cows into cheese, ice cream and other delicious treats, including how the cheese is aged.

Of course, no trip to the creamery would be complete without ice cream before heading home!

Farm Life Creamery experienced a devastating barn fire earlier this summer, so this is a great time to support this local business. Stop by to visit the animals, play a round of mini golf, and enjoy a treat. There is plenty to see, learn and enjoy!

The girls at Abbott House East recently enjoyed a sweet surprise!

Titus, one of our school staff members, also works for the local Martha Ann’s Ice Cream Truck. He volunteered his time to park outside AHE and serve ice cream to the girls on a hot summer day. He even gave us a special discount on the treats!

After a surprise like that, Titus just might be the new favorite staff member in Mitchell.

Sometimes a little fresh air is exactly what you need!

The girls recently spent some time at Lake Mitchell, where they explored the trails, enjoyed the scenery and had plenty of time to simply be outside.

It was a beautiful day to get away, spend some time in nature and enjoy one of Mitchell’s great outdoor spaces.

There’s still a little summer left, and these kids are making the most of it!

Some of our Rapid City foster youth spent the day walking around downtown, enjoying the sunshine and, of course, stopping for ice cream along the way.

With school right around the corner, we’re squeezing in every last bit of summer fun we can!
