Our annual meeting honors our community's Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Volunteer of the Year and focuses on the accomplishments of the past year while looking toward the future. The chamber addresses timely issues through business and education forums and workshops, and by meeting with local and state officials on matters such as highway construction and economic development. Our

chamber serves as the information hub of the community, making referrals to the appropriate industry, business or organization. As a welcome center, the chamber has the opportunity to introduce visitors and area newcomers to all our community has to offer. We encourage you to join the continuing efforts on behalf of the Mitchell community through your membership in
the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce. We believe our directory and buyer's guide (available at the chamber office) is a valuable resource for you in contracting Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce members for the products and services you need.

June is Limestone Month! Get a look into the past on these special limestone Walks.

GREEN HILL CEMETERY
Take a guided tour through Green Hill Cemetery. During this free guided walking tour, you can see intricate gravestones made of limestone, learn interesting facts about the limestone industry's connection to the cemetery, and hear interesting stories about some of the special stones and some of the prominent figures who are laid to rest there. These are walking tours that will last about 1 hour.

The 2 dates for Green Hill Cemetery are:
June 10, 2026, at 10 AM (EST)
June 17, 2026, at 10 AM (EST).

DOWNTOWN BEDFORD ARCHITECTURAL WALKING TOUR
On this free guided walking tour, learn more about the past evolution of our courthouse square and hear stories from the past. Tours include architectural and historical information on the buildings around the square. Meet at the entrance to the Lawrence County Museum at 925 15th St., Bedford.

The 2 dates for the Architectural Walks are:
June 12, 2026, at 5 PM (EST)
June 13, 2026, at 10 AM (EST)

These tours are a free event.
While not required, you can RSVP by calling (812) 849-1090 (leave a message with your name, mobile number, and tour date).

The Lawrence County Community Foundation is accepting applications for non-traditional scholarships. Non-traditional scholarships are available to students who postponed pursuing secondary education one or more years after graduating from high school.
