Yesterday members had a SCBA training night with Scottsbluff Fire Department. Some slipped into packs for the first time and others worked on advancing and sharpening their skills. Training nights are more than just showing up and signing in, they provide opportunities for us to ultimately serve our community better and build on ourselves . Everyone learned a lot and had fun. Thank you SFD 😎

Today April 30th just after 2p.m. the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a grass fire along Hwy26 near Cook Oil Road. While crews were responding mutual aid was requested from Scottsbluff Rural Fire Protection District. Another fire was discovered to the east of Cr.19 on Hwy 26. SBRFD and one truck from MVFD responded to this fire. As crews were wrapping up at both fires SBRFD was notified of another fire near Captain Critters Campground that had been extinguished by a passing vehicle. MVFD went to the area and found where the fire had burned and extinguished a couple of hot spots. MVFD responded with five trucks and seven personnel spread out between all three fires. Thank you to SBRFD for their assistance.
