There has been a lot of interest in the upcoming award of a new EAS contract for Grand County. This contract has a direct effect of the residents of Moab and Grand County. Tomorrow the Airport Board will be meeting and make a recommendation to the Grand County Commission who will make a recommendation to the DOT after their meeting on Tuesday.

There is a lot of great information in the packet. If you are interested in this, click on the link. You can see the breakdown of all the airlines and each one of their proposals. It is item 4 in the packet.

You can also make your voice heard at either the airport board meeting or the commission meeting on Tuesday.

Grateful this is finally happening.

It is horrible to think these types of crimes happen in our town, however I am grateful for the dedicated and hard working police force we have. Great job Moab City Police Department for taking these people off the streets.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who helped welcome the holiday season this past week. It was a full and festive week here in our small community. From the tree lighting up on Sand Flats to the grand finale of the Moab Electric Light Parade, the celebrations were filled with so many moments of community spirit that you couldn’t help but feel the joy of the season.

There are countless people to thank, and naming everyone would be impossible without missing someone. But this holiday season, I especially want to thank the residents of Moab. Thank you for showing up, supporting these events, and helping make our community feel a little closer. I hope we met new neighbors, made new friends, and reconnected with familiar faces.

As we move through the season, I hope we continue to grow stronger as a community. May we work together to support our local economy, strengthen our neighborhoods, and remember that while we are all working hard, juggling challenges, spending time with loved ones, and trying to make ends meet, there is always room to lend a helping hand when someone needs it.

Moab is an amazing place. While we may not all share the same vision for the future of our small town, I believe we can all agree on this: we want every member of our community to be blessed with peace, health, safe sidewalks, and prosperity this holiday season and in the year ahead.

To quote one of my wifes favorite romcoms -

The new Main Street garbage cans! Here are the new cans without the wraps. As soon as they get wrapped they will start to be installed on Main Street and the old ones will be removed. The last picture is the type of can that will be inside the new garbage cans. These are in front of the city offices if you want to check them and do a test dumping of trash and let us know how it went.
