The CommuniTea Garden

The CommuniTea Garden The CommuniTea Garden, collectively owned and volunteer managed, is open to the public to enjoy green space in downtown Moab.

You’ll find fruit trees and herbs to nibble and places to rest while you enjoy a new book from the lending library onsite. This space is open to the public in the hopes that it will add to the corridor of community-oriented places such as the Mill Creek Bike Path, the Moab Valley Multicultural Center, Swanny Park and the Recreation Center. All of the materials for the garden were sourced locally a

nd many were 'upcycled'. This is an all-volunteer project and we hope that you will contribute your art, talents, and skills to the CommuniTea Garden! The CommuniTea Garden strives to enhance the Moab community by creating a space that exhibits sustainable land management and development in a way that is inviting for people to stay and enjoy the garden. The land is shaped to harvest water to help the many plants growing there, such as fruit trees, herbs, berries, and native plants. Eventually, the trees and herbs will supplement the community with food and herbs for tea.

It’s magical mulberry season at the Tea Garden. You’ll find sweet white mulberries on the north west corner of the garden. The coppiced tree makes great shade, fun for climbing, and gives delicious fruit this time of year. Try a bite with a pinch of mint growing in the understory.

Adding more food to the food forest, Sasha inoculated logs at the Tea Garden today with oyster mushroom spores. Hopefully in a few months, with the right conditions, we will have another culinary delicacy to try.

We are so grateful for our CommuniTea! Thanks to all who joined us at the The CommuniTea Garden Garden for an evening of jean painting, sipping Sundial Medicinals tea, and solidarity for survivors!

This community art project aims to raise awareness and cultivate support around these critical issues and will be available for viewing through the end of April at the CommuniTea Garden.
