Flags across the nation are at half-staff today in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day—a solemn reminder of the sacrifice made by law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Established in 1962, Peace Officers Memorial Day and the surrounding National Police Week were created by a joint resolution of Congress and a proclamation signed by President John F. Kennedy, designating May 15 as a day to honor fallen officers and the week as a time of national remembrance. Since then, this observance has grown into a nationwide tribute, with communities across the country pausing to reflect on the courage, service, and commitment of those who wear the badge, as well as the families who bear their loss.
We invite you to take a moment today to reflect, to remember, and visit the Moberly Police Department’s fallen officers page to learn about the individuals who served our community with honor.

We will be conducting the monthly siren test today at 11AM!
Today's test will also include the mobile alert app.
Please use this time to practice your plan or start making a plan on what you would do and where you would go in the real event of a tornado. As we found out last week these storms come at different hours of the day. Make sure you have a plan in place!
