What does Extension do in Randolph County?
The University of Missouri Extension Division was founded in 1910 with a vision to be a valued and trusted education solution to improve the quality of life for the residents of every county in Missouri. Our function is to help people learn to solve their own problems by supplying them with the knowledge to do so. Our distinct land-grant mission is to improve lives, communities and economies by producing relevant, reliable and responsive educational strategies that enhance access to the resources and research of the University of Missouri to each resident in Randolph County. We do this through specialists and materials that provide education/opportunities in the areas of agriculture, business, children and teens, family life, farm management, financial education, home and garden, horticulture, and nutrition and health to anyone who stops by or calls our office. All of our funds for the local office are 100% provided through local support from county appropriations, local fundraising, and fee generation for some education services. Donations of any kind are always appreciated, tax deductible, and all money stays in Randolph County. Extension houses several clubs in Randolph County such as EXCEL, 4-H, Magic City Master Gardeners and FCE. All clubs are open to anyone who would like to join.
