Today, MAEDC was honored to host the Leadership Northeast Missouri graduation in Moberly. This regional leadership institute features six learning and networking sessions held across northeast Missouri. Topics include transportation and infrastructure, healthcare, workforce development, agricultural technology, and navigating government systems. The leadership component incorporates the True Colors assessment and curriculum.

Disaster Recovery Help is Here!

The April 23-28 storms, tornadoes, and flooding are over; now it's time to recover.

Stop by the Moberly Library on Friday, September 25th, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to speak with representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration about disaster recovery help, and to learn about low-interest disaster loans that can help you rebuild, repair, and replace damaged property.

Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 is currently making its way back across the country, having travelled to the East Coast for the first time in history in collaboration with Norfolk Southern, ahead of their proposed merger. The historic locomotive will be making a stop in Missouri next month.

It will arrive in St. Louis on July 19 and make its way across the state, with stops in Pacific, Hermann and Jefferson City on the 21st and ending in Kansas City on the 22nd. The full schedule can be found at https://www.up.com/about-us/history/steam/schedule.

Twenty-five Big Boys were built exclusively for Union Pacific, the first of which was delivered in 1941. The locomotives are 132 feet long and weigh 1.2 million pounds. This Big Boy, No. 4014, was delivered to Union Pacific in December 1941.
