Today, thousands of voters in West Mobile went to the polls and elected to join our city.

What this means for our community’s future cannot be overstated. This is a monumental day for Mobile and the entire region.

There will undoubtedly be questions moving forward about what services the City of Mobile will be providing and when.

In the coming days and weeks, we will be working to provide answers to those, and other questions new residents might have on our website, www.cityofmobile.org.

"Will I have to pay for garbage collection?"

No! Residents of Mobile enjoy free weekly household garbage collection and bi-weekly trash/debris collection. If your area votes to annex into the city, every home will receive a free 96-gallon garbage can. A second garbage can be purchased for a one-time fee of $80, and the city will empty both cans at no extra charge.
