Today, the Mobile County Public School System honored some of its finest educators at the annual Giving Tree Ceremony!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own Jennifer Asberry! Her name was officially engraved on the Giving Tree outside the Academic Affairs Building today in honor of her incredible achievement as the MCPSS Elementary School Teacher of the Year. 🌟This beautiful ceremony recognized her outstanding dedication alongside the MCPSS Middle and High School Teachers of the Year. Ms. Streeter was right there to celebrate and support Ms. Asberry on this special day, joining Superintendent Threadgill and School Board Commissioners Mrs. McDade and Mr. Stringfellow for the celebration.
Congratulations, Ms. Asberry, on this well-deserved and prestigious honor!

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Jennifer Asberry for being recognized as one of the Sweet Sixteen finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year! With over 50,000 extraordinary educators across the state of Alabama, being selected as one of the top 16 is a prestigious and monumental honor that speaks volumes about Ms. Asberry’s impact on her students and her profession. Accompanied by our principal, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Asberry recently traveled to Montgomery for two days of special events honoring her dedication to excellence in education. The celebration included a luncheon hosted by the Alabama Education Association and a formal awards ceremony at the beautiful Alabama Shakespeare Festival Theater, where she was presented with a commemorative plaque and prizes from several generous sponsors.
The highlights concluded on Thursday as Ms. Asberry and her fellow finalists were recognized by State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey and presented with a formal resolution during the State Board of Education meeting. We are incredibly proud to have Ms. Asberry representing Council Traditional School and the Mobile County Public School System at the state level! 🍎🌟

The Mobile Chamber and its Military Affairs Committee honored retired, current and future military leaders as well as the elementary and secondary teachers of the year from Mobile and Baldwin County during its 36th Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon held at the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. During this event, Ms. Asberry was recognized by the Air & Space Force Association for her outstanding commitment to education and student development. The day was made even more significant as Ms. Asberry was joined by a very special guest: her father, Denny Asberry. His own six years of service in the Army Reserves added a layer of personal pride to an already momentous occasion, highlighting a beautiful connection between service to country and service to the classroom.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Asberry on this prestigious achievement and thanking her for the incredible work she does for our students every day! 🚀✨
