A line of strong thunderstorms across northwest Florida continues to gradually intensify with frequent cloud to ground lightning occurring. Additional storms are expected late this afternoon further west into coastal Alabama and north into southwestern central Alabama.

YELLOW FLAGS ARE FLYING TODAY
MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK

Beachgoers are urged to use caution while entering the Gulf. Moderate surf and currents are present, and rip currents can develop quickly. Always swim near others, keep a close watch on children, and avoid swimming alone.

Yellow Flag Meaning:
Moderate surf and/or currents
Use caution when entering the water
Weak swimmers should stay in shallow water
Keep flotation devices nearby for children

β€’ If caught in a rip current, remain calm
β€’ Do not swim directly against the current
β€’ Swim parallel to shore until free of the current
