🌱 The Kiwanis Garden Club is back!

Before anything gets planted, our Club members are starting with a plan! This week, they put their creativity to work designing blueprints for this year’s Kiwanis Club garden. 🪴✏️

We can’t wait to watch their ideas go from paper to the garden this year. Stay tuned! 💙

📚 Homework first, then we play! 🙌

Afternoons at the Club start with getting the important stuff done. Our members have time to work on homework, get the support they need, and stay on track with school.

Then comes the fun! 🎉 After working hard throughout the week, members can enjoy free time and cash in their hard-earned rewards at the Power Hour Store.

Friday afternoons are for DANCE PARTIES! 🕺🏽💃🏽✨

Our K–2nd grade Club members at the Whitley Branch wrapped up the week with music, dancing and plenty of energy! 🎶

Because after a full week of learning, sometimes you just have to turn the music up and have a little fun with your friends. 💙

The 35th Lexus Mayors' Cup Golf Tournament is more than a day on the course. Every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer helps create opportunities for local youth across South Alabama.

Your participation helps provide academic support, mentorship, workforce development opportunities, and life-changing experiences that prepare young people for success. In fact, many of the professionals now serving our community once walked through the doors of a Boys & Girls Club.

On tournament day, you'll even have the opportunity to meet some of our Club members and see firsthand the impact your support is making.

Program Spotlight: Triple Play Gamesroom 🎱🕹️

A little friendly competition is always welcome at the Club! Our Gamesroom gives members a chance to have fun, challenge their friends and spend time together through activities like pool, carpet ball and classic arcade games.

It may look like play, but there’s plenty happening along the way. Members are learning good sportsmanship, patience, teamwork and how to win (and lose!) with a good attitude. 💙

Just another way we make sure there’s something for every kid to enjoy at the Club!

After-School Spotlight: Sonny Callahan 🌟

Our Sonny Callahan Club members have been busy! 💙

During a healthy eating activity, our younger members created the fruit or vegetable they would want to be and shared why they chose it. 🍉🍓🥕

They also put their creativity to the test with a STEM challenge using LEGOs. Members worked individually and as teams to design and build creations strong enough to knock the Teen Leaders off their feet! Their ideas included everything from a flying car and dream homes to a castle with a tunnel and even a beach resort. 🧱💡

And Girl Scouts is officially back at Sonny Callahan, with two Club parents stepping up to lead the girls this year! 💚

Just a glimpse of the learning, creativity and fun happening after school at the Club.

Afterschool programming is still in full swing. Club members at the Bernard Malkove (Cody Road) Branch had a successful Power Hour class. Power Hour helps club members achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
