Today, our Board of Directors came together for our 2026 Board Retreat, taking time to reflect, reconnect, and look ahead to the future of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast.

We kicked off the day with encouraging words from Ronnie Stallworth, who challenged us to look for the hidden gems all around us and recognize the potential, purpose, and impact that can sometimes be overlooked.

We also had the opportunity to hear from The Root Agency, who helped us think strategically about where we are, where we’re going, and how we can continue growing our impact in the communities we serve.

We’re grateful for a board that continues to show up, lean in, and believe in the power of mentorship. Together, we’re building something BIG.

Our Bigs and Littles at Palmer Pillans Middle School were so excited to see each other again after a summer apart!

For school-based matches, the school day is where the magic happens. Bigs and Littles get to spend time together on campus during school hours, building friendships, sharing laughs, talking through challenges and making memories, one visit at a time.

After a summer away, that first “I’m so glad to see you!” moment hits a little differently.

Here’s to another school year of BIG connections and even BIGGER possibilities!

Back to school means it’s officially RECONNECTION SEASON!

Today, we kicked things off at Gilliard Elementary School, where Bigs and Littles had the sweetest reunion after a summer apart.

For our school-based matches, these moments are extra special. Bigs and Littles spend their time together on school grounds during school hours, so after a summer break, getting to see each other again is a BIG deal!

There were smiles, hugs, stories to share and plenty of excitement about another year of making memories together.

Here’s to a new school year filled with connection, encouragement, friendship and BIG moments!

Yesterday was a BIG day in Mississippi!

Big Jeremy and Little Joshua were officially matched, and both were excited to meet their new friend. They quickly discovered they already have something BIG in common—they both love The Sandlot!

We’re excited to watch this new friendship grow and can’t wait to see all the adventures Jeremy and Joshua share together.
