🎨✨ Welcome to Mary B. Austin, Ms. May! ✨🎨

We are so excited to welcome Mayssam Iskandar — or “Ms. May” to our students — as our new PTA Art Teacher! She officially begins teaching our K–2 students this week, and we can't wait to see the creativity she brings to our classrooms. 💙

Ms. May is an accomplished local artist, bringing art to life through different mediums and settings. In addition to teaching, she is also a Mardi Gras float painter, plein air artist, oil artist, and more! 🎨

Most importantly, we are thrilled that she’ll be sharing her love of art with our Innovators!

And we want our Mary B. Austin families to know just how special this program is:

❤️ Our PTA funds the art program so ALL students can receive art instruction throughout the entire school year.

That means every student gets the opportunity to explore creativity, learn new skills and experience the joy of making art.

And this program is 100% funded by PTA fundraising and powered by our incredible volunteers. Every fundraiser, sponsorship, donation and volunteer hour helps make opportunities like this possible for our students. 🙌

🎪 Fall Festival is coming back to campus, and we’re getting ready to play!

We’re looking for handy parents and volunteers who can help repair and refresh some of our Fall Festival games or put their woodworking & building skills to work creating new games that can be enjoyed for years to come.

This is a great opportunity to help create something that will bring smiles to our students while supporting an event that helps raise funds for our school. Fall Festival will be here soon, so now is the time to get to work! 💪🔨
