Mobile Housing Authority Hosts Successful Back-to-School Bash with Destination Church

The Mobile Housing Authority (MHA), in partnership with Destination Church, welcomed more than 165 residents and community members to its annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 1.

The event brought families together to celebrate the upcoming school year with an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and community support. Children received clear backpacks filled with school supplies (while supplies lasted) and enjoyed a variety of activities, including inflatable jumpers, face art, animal balloons, basketball, music, and free food.

The Back-to-School Bash reflected MHA's ongoing commitment to supporting resident families and creating opportunities that strengthen neighborhoods and bring the community together. Through partnerships like Destination Church, MHA continues to provide meaningful programs and events that enrich the lives of its residents.

The Mobile Housing Authority extends its sincere appreciation to Destination Church, volunteers, and MHA staff for helping make this event a tremendous success. Together, we are preparing students for a successful school year while building stronger, more connected communities.

The Mobile Housing Authority (MHA) is proud to congratulate Peyton Foster on being selected as a 2026 Education & Enrichment Scholarship Recipient by the Alabama Housing Authorities Education & Enrichment Foundation (AHAEEF)!

A 2026 graduate of LeFlore High School, Peyton will continue his educational journey this fall at Louisiana State University (LSU). His selection reflects his academic excellence, leadership, commitment to service, and determination to make a positive impact in his community.

In his scholarship essay, Peyton shared how his family, neighbors, mentors, and the historic "Avenue" community have instilled in him the values of leadership, responsibility, resilience, and service. He emphasized that success is not determined by where you come from, but by how you overcome challenges and use them as opportunities to grow.

MHA is honored to have sponsored Peyton's scholarship application and applauds the Alabama Housing Authorities Education & Enrichment Foundation for investing in the future of Alabama's students.

Congratulations, Peyton! We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and wish you continued success as you begin this exciting new chapter at LSU. Your Mobile Housing Authority family is cheering you on every step of the way!
