The Mobile Film Office is a full-time office and department of the City of Mobile.

The purpose of the Film Office is to act as a liaison between the film industry, the government and the community in order to facilitate on-location production in the Mobile area by educating, informing, setting standards of professionalism, and serving as a clearinghouse for location production information.

"That They May Be One" is a documentary drama that was filmed partly in Lower Alabama and directed and written by Daphne local Dan Johnson. The film was released for a limited time in theaters on May 19th and 20th, and during this time, it was viewed by 13,000 people.

🎬 Calling All Student Filmmakers! 🎬

Have you ever dreamed of seeing your film on the big screen? Now’s your chance! Thanks to our friends at the Crescent Theater for partnering with us to bring something really special to the youth.

The Crescent Cut Student Film Showcase is presented by our office in partnership with the Crescent Theater, gives student filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work on the big screen and share their creativity with the community.

To submit your film, complete the registration form at the link below or via the QR code. Participants must be current students to qualify for the screening. All submisions are due by July 17th.

June Creative Meet-Up: This month's Creative Meet-Up will take place on June 15th at 6pm at the Crescent Theater. Come network with local creatives, share your upcoming projects, and sign up for our Summer Film Scramble, "A Story to Share". Individuals and Teams will be able to select their scramble requirements at the Meet-Up. All films will be due on July 11th. We will screen all of our Summer Film Scramble films at our July Creative Meet-Up at the Crescent Theater on July 13th. Creatives of all ages welcome to participate.

Alabama Creatives are working on big things. Bud Scott was the Key Grip on "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu". Curry Barker directed, wrote, and edited the film "Obsession."

The MFO Spring Film Scramble wrapped up with a viewing at the Crescent Theater as part of our Creative Meet-Up last month. Six teams showed off their creativity, presenting six very different films that included elements that were randomly assigned to them based on the roll of the dice.
