This Independence Day, we're celebrating 25 years of building futures.

Our 25th Annual Gala was more than a night out : it was a declaration. Every scholarship, every mentorship moment, every handshake in that room moved us closer to a community where our youth don't just survive : they thrive.

True independence starts with opportunity. And we couldn't have done it without the incredible sponsors, partners, and supporters who invest in the next generation year after year.

Today, we stand in the light of history to celebrate Juneteenth: a day that marks the triumph of the human spirit and the enduring power of freedom. On June 19, 1865, the promise of liberty finally reached every heart in Galveston, Texas, signaling a new dawn and a profound shift in our collective narrative.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, we honor the resilience of those who paved the way. Their strength is the foundation upon which we build the future for our youth. To the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, Juneteenth is more than a commemoration; it is a call to action. True freedom is found in the ability to dream, to learn, and to lead without boundaries.

Through mentoring, education, and economic empowerment, we are dedicated to unlocking the limitless potential of the next generation. We are shaping visionary leaders who carry the torch of liberation forward, ensuring that the legacy of progress and transformation continues to shine brightly.

Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we continue the work of empowerment.

How are you honoring the legacy of freedom today?

Our voice is our power, and tomorrow, we have the opportunity to use it. As we approach the Primary Runoff Election this Tuesday, June 16, let’s remember that every ballot cast is a lesson taught to the young men and women we mentor.

At 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, we believe in shaping the future not just through words, but through action. By participating in the democratic process, we honor the legacy of those who fought for our right to be heard while building a stronger foundation for the next generation. Voting is more than a civic duty; it is an act of community empowerment and a vital part of the example we set for our youth.

Let’s show our students what leadership looks like in practice. When we show up at the polls, we demonstrate that their future matters and that their community is worth investing in. We are unlocking potential and shaping destiny, one vote at a time.

Join us in being the change. Let’s lead the way and see you at the polls tomorrow, Mobile.

At 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, we talk a lot about the power of mentorship. But we know that the very first mentors our youth ever have are the women who birth and raise them. šŸ’

Before a teacher, a coach, or a "100" mentor enters the picture, a mother has already begun the work of shaping a visionary. You are the original architects of character, the first examples of resilience, and the heartbeat of our community.

Today, we celebrate every mother, grandmother, and mother figure who mentors with love and leads with grace. Thank you for building the foundation our future stands on.

When we look at Astronaut Victor J. Glover Jr., we see more than a pilot heading into deep space; we see the manifestation of every dream we nurture in our Saturday Academy and mentoring circles. At 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, we believe that every young person carries a universe of potential. Our mission is to provide the "rocket fuel" of mentorship that propels our youth from the streets of our city to the far reaches of their imagination.

They say you can't be what you can't see. But what happens when you finally see it?

In the heart of Mobile, we witness a specific kind of magic every week. It’s that "lightbulb moment" when a young man looks across the table and doesn't just see a mentor: he sees a mirror.

He sees a man who walked the same sidewalks, attended the same schools, and faced the same challenges. In that reflection, the impossible suddenly becomes attainable. Representation isn't just a buzzword; it is a catalyst for transformation. When our youth see professionals who look like them, lead like them, and care for them, the ceiling of their potential disappears.

We aren't just teaching skills; we are expanding horizons. Every conversation and every lesson is a brick in the bridge to a brighter future. We are shaping the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs by showing them that their dreams have already been lived, and they are next.

Legacy isn’t just something we read about in books: it’s something we carry in our hands and pass down to the next generation. 🌟

This Women’s History Month, we’re taking a moment to share the incredible story of Matilda McCrear (also known as Matilda Lott) with our students. Did you know she was the last known survivor of the Clotilda? She lived right here in Mobile until 1940, a living testament to strength and survival against all odds.

When we show our youth her picture and tell them about her resilience, we aren’t just teaching a history lesson. We’re showing them the DNA of a survivor and the spirit of a leader that lives within them. Our mentors are dedicated to passing that torch, ensuring our kids know where they come from so they can lead where they’re going.

Matilda’s journey from the shores of Benin to the heart of Mobile is a story of unbreakable will. Let’s keep that legacy alive.

Who is a woman in your family whose story needs to be told? Let’s celebrate them in the comments! šŸ‘‡šŸ¾
