Roll up your sleeve and help the American Red Cross today in Mobile!

HAPPENING NOW! Join the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and the Mobile Police Department until 1:30pm at the American Red Cross located at 35 N. Sage Avenue for the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive!

This is a friendly competition between departments, but we're urging the ENTIRE COMMUNITY to show up and donate. The American Red Cross needs your support, too.

Today marks day one of fire school for Recruit Class 26-02. The class is compiled of 29 eager recruits from 7 fire agencies in our area, including Mobile, Prichard, Theodore-Dawes, Spanish Fort, Saraland, Bayou la Batre, and Daphne.

Over the next 11 weeks, these women and men will undergo high-standard, physically-demanding training to ensure that they are well-prepared to serve their communities with competence and pride.

“It’s like Christmas morning or the first day of spring training. It’s exciting! We’re expecting a lot from them, and they expect a lot from us. Everything we give to these recruits, we hope that they take it with them as a foundation and use it throughout the rest of their careers,” said Training Captain Jonathon Lyles.

Best of luck, 26-02! We’re counting on you.
