What a great week for the City of Chickasaw. I am so excited I could bust. So many new and exciting projects are in the works. Our city is slowly transforming into a vibrant, bustling community that will soon be rich with amenities and opportunity.

Months of hard work is beginning to payoff. Today for instance, just one of the grants we applied for recently was awarded to us to put in a new boat launch at Brooks Park and this is only the beginning. Much more development is being planned to improve and connect Brooks Park with Chickasabogue Park and throughout the city.

I also met a sitting Congressman and several real-estate and business developers exploring possible sites and opportunities, as well as, everything Chickasaw has to offer, and it is a lot. Once people know what we used to be, it's easy for them to see what we can become once again.

Prayers are being answered for Chickasaw. Just know that if you are a person of faith, continue to hold fast and pray for our city. We will soon be that shining light on the hill for all to see.

Before I became Mayor, even though I did not attend many City Council meetings, I still wanted to know what was going on in my city and if there were any projects in the works. Now that I am Mayor, keeping citizens informed is something I strive to do because, that is something I think we all deserve.

As many of you know, my profession is in sales and marketing. I have spent most of my professional life in this arena. Making the right contacts and repetitive touches with influencers and decision makers are paramount in making and closing deals.

Today was another one of those opportunities, as I was able to spend some quality time with Congressman Barry Moore, lobbying for Chickasaw. Barry understands the huge importance of the port and how surrounding communities can benefit from shipping activity. Mobile is on Washington's radar, as they look for ways to expand the port of Mobile. I gave Barry a brief education on the Port of Chickasaw and invited him for a visit. Luckily, he was already aware and committed to getting up with me very soon to visit Chickasaw.

I want to thank my friend Mamun Siddiq aka Cousin for sponsoring today's event and for the VIP invitation to sit and visit with dignitaries from all over. It was a very informative session listening to Bradley Byrne and Barry Moore discuss things that matter, not only in our country, but things that affect our state and local economy.

I keep saying it and I will say it again, the brightest days for Chickasaw are yet to come.

Our dear friend and Chickasaw Industrial Board, Chickasaw Housing and Chickasaw Development Corp board member, James "Doc" Greene, passed away peacefully at his home on 8/10/2026.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 18th at Chickasaw United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Service will be held at the church with burial at Memorial Gardens.

Please pray for the Greene family.
