Taylor-White Elementary School Taylor-White Elementary School is a public school located in Mobile, Alabama that serves students in Motto:
Learning today and leading tomorrow.

Taylor-White Elementary was built to address the growing population in the West Mobile community for the 2013 - 2014 school year. It is named after two former Mobile County Public School employees who contributed many years of distinctive service to the system. Beliefs / Vision:
1. Students’ academic, social, and emotional development is the chief priority and must be fostered in a safe, positive,

and supportive learning environment.
2. Educators, school staff, students, parents, and the community must collaborate to share the responsibility to ensure that all students become confident, life-long learners.
3. Students are capable of achieving the values of good citizenship, self-discipline, and self-direction, which are the foundations for pride in self, school, community, and country.
4. Each student is respected for his or her uniqueness and must be provided with differentiated and individualized instruction to meet his or her personal needs, achievements, and goals.
5. Students have the potential to develop an understanding and appreciation for diversity in society.
6. Students can be successful when provided with a variety of instructional approaches, with the goal of becoming successful citizens of the future.

Teamwork is the ultimate game changer. Just like an elite squad on the field, students huddle up in the science lab to tackle the ultimate puzzle. Every teammate brings a unique skill to the roster, from measuring variables to fitting the data pieces together. When they communicate, pass the information, and hustle as one unit, they turn individual effort into a championship breakthrough.

This week, Mrs. Morgan’s fourth grade class has been learning all about the endings -ed and -ing! 📚✏️
To put their learning into action, students participated in a fun, interactive scavenger hunt around the school. 🔎 Students searched for base words and practiced adding -ed and -ing to create new words with new meanings. Along the way, they also identified the spelling rule used when adding each ending.
As an extra challenge, students collected clues throughout the scavenger hunt to uncover a secret message at the end! 🕵️‍♀️✨
It was a fun way to get students moving, thinking, and applying their word-analysis skills! 💡

This week, Mrs. Morgan’s fourth grade class enjoyed reading “Louis Braille: Gift to the Blind.” As we learned about Louis Braille’s incredible contributions and the impact of the Braille system, students had the opportunity to bring their learning to life by creating their own names in Braille! It was a fun, hands-on way to connect our reading to the real world and deepen our understanding.

Score one for science!
Today, some of our Kindergarten All-Stars kicked off their big game against the elements, diving deep into the playbook on weather and tracking tools.
For their first major play, every rookie on the roster crafted a custom windsock to read the field conditions. The team then headed out to the stadium (the playground) for some live-action testing.
At the 2:00 PM kickoff, scouts reported the conditions were "a little windy"—just enough to get the windsocks into motion! The whistle might have blown for the end of the school day, but the clock hasn’t run out yet. These little athletes can’t wait to check the stats again at their home fields later this afternoon!

Our fourth-grade Timberwolves hit a scientific home run this week by testing gravity and air resistance in a high-stakes physics matchup! The young athletes dropped a golf ball and a ping-pong ball from the exact same height to see which challenger would claim the speed title.
Game Highlights
The Playbook: Students predicted whether the heavy golf ball or the lightweight ping-pong ball would hit the turf first.
The Action: Pairs dropped both balls simultaneously from a measured height to clock their descent speeds.
The Scoreboard: Both balls hit the ground at nearly the same time, proving gravity pulls them equally.
