The City of Modesto has prepared an application to participate in the California Prohousing Designation Program and is now ready for a public review!

Earning this designation will allow the City to compete for funding opportunities to continue supporting housing development projects in Modesto.

Community feedback received during the public review period will be considered by City staff before the application is presented to City Council.

The Modesto City Council recognized and expressed appreciation for the advocacy and partnership of those who create a welcoming and connected community with a proclamation declaring June 2026 as LGBTQ+ Month.

Receiving the proclamation were Cal Pride Stanislaus Executive Director, Jessica Parman and Vice President of Communications, Ryann Hall.

"This month and always, we recognize the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement by honoring brave leaders and organizers, by educating ourselves and others, and continuing to foster a community of acceptance," said Mayor Sue Zwahlen as she read from the proclamation.

The Community Police Review Board (CPRB) meets once a month and is responsible for promoting community engagement with our local law enforcement. CPRB members should be registered voters of the City and have interest in improving the relationship between MPD and the Modesto community.

Every year, the City of Modesto publishes a list of unclaimed funds from various deposits, such as Utility Deposits, Business License Deposits, Capacity Fees, and Miscellaneous Refunds, as well as checks issued by the City that have not been deposited or cashed by the payee.

The claim period is now open. If you believe some of these funds belong to you, you must submit a verified claim before June 30, 2026.

To request a claim form, contact the City of Modesto Finance Department, Accounts Receivable at (209)577-5303.
