When health challenges left Eric, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and his partner Maria without stable housing, the couple found safety and hope through the Motel Voucher Program, powered by our partnership with Turning Point Community Programs and funded by Measure H. Strong support services and one-on-one case management were key to helping them regain stability.

Modesto traffic advisory: keeping neighbors informed because nobody likes surprise traffic.

As construction on 9th Street continues, expect lane closures and delays between 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, from North Carpenter Road to L Street.

Construction at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park is moving forward with visible momentum.

New sidewalks are taking shape, the gymnasium’s steel structure has officially topped out, and new driveways and curbs are being formed along the roadway.

At the same time, the engineering team is finalizing key design elements of the new splash pad, bringing this major community investment closer to reality.

Stanislaus Equity Partners (STEP) and Self-Help Enterprises hosted an official Home Framing Celebration today for a 38-home residential community specially designed to help working families.

McClure Meadows is more than just a housing project; it is a powerful investment in Modesto's future, proving that when local partners come together to support working families, homeownership becomes reality.

Just ask Carlos, the very first homebuyer program recipient through STEP, who spoke today and proudly said, "Yes, this is possible."

The City Manager’s Monthly Update Report highlights the latest statistics showing how our City is staying safe.

The Modesto Police Department's crime stats from January to July 2026, compared to 2025, reflect the results of investments focused on addressing crime before it becomes a larger problem.

-Auto theft down by 36%
-Commercial burglary down by 43%
-Vehicle larceny down by 49%
-Residential burglary down by 25%
-Robbery down by 13%

We are living in a safer community built over time, and it shows.

Our community has been making a splash at the 4th Street Park Aquatics Center!

You can now plan ahead for your summer fun and pre-register for a session at the 4th Street Park Aquatics Center.

The City's Parks and Recreation team has launched an online pre-registration process for entry to the Aquatics Center.

For each session through September 6, 2026, 300 spots are available for pre-registration, with an additional 50 walk-up spots for each session. So, register online in minutes and spend more time in the water.
