Dear Seal Students, Assessors & Volunteers,

In an effort to exhibit extreme caution with the health of our county’s students, we had to cancel the Seal Interview Event day that was calendared for this Saturday, March 14th.

Our team is working hard to create an alternate way to interview all students who were registered for the interview day. Please watch for an email with further details coming soon. We will be communicating with you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work toward the alternate plan.

See below for a scholarship opportunity:
As we have for the past six years, The English Learner Group, Inc. is proud to offer a competitive academic scholarship to graduating high school seniors who were/are English Learners, in the honor of the current superintendent of Golden Plains Unified School District, Martin Macias, who himself was an English Learner.

Ten scholarships will be given this spring to deserving candidates in the amount of $1000 each.

The complete application with all of the requirements can be found at http://www.theenglishlearnergroup.com/about-us/martin-macias-honorary-college-scholarship/. The final submission date is Monday, April 16, 2018. Once the applications are processed, the recipients will receive an email notification.

I am asking that this information be shared with any and all high schools in your area, so that all English learners have access to this opportunity. So, PLEASE FORWARD THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Please let me know if you have any clarification questions. I look forward to hearing from your GREAT students!

Blessings,

We had a great day Friday reading the on-demand essays. Look for scores to be posted in the Google classroom Monday or Tuesday. And don't forget to work on those autobiographies!

Congratulations to all of you that earned the Seal this year!
