• To assist in affording protection to disabled firefi

ghters, and those dependent upon them, through legislative enactment.

• To create and maintain brotherly and fraternal fellowship among firefighters ofthe State of Ohio, through educational seminars and programs.

Want to become an Ohio Volunteer Firefighter and help out your community? The Ohio Fire Academy (OFA) is offering a FREE Volunteer Firefighter Course, meeting all requirements set by the Ohio Administrative Code (O.A.C.).

Course Highlights:

36-hour Volunteer Firefighter awareness-level course
Fast-paced training over two weekends
Topics include ladders, ropes, ventilation, forcible entry, PPE, hoses, and water movement
Must attend the entire program to receive state certification
Course Dates:

August 14–16, 2026 (begins at 6pm on the 14th, 8:00am on the 15th and 16th)
August 21–23, 2026 (begins at 6pm on the 21st, 8:00am on the 22nd and 23rd)
Cost: Absolutely FREE!
Tuition, meals, course materials, and dormitory lodging are all provided at no cost.
Participants must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
