A reminder that all seasonal cemetery decorations should be removed from the Calvary Cemetery by October 31st.
Seasonal decorations are items that could be blown around or damaged by winter storms and snowfall.

Due to seasonal road load restrictions taking effect Monday, Allouez Township received the following information from Waste Management regarding their garbage collection service in the township:

Tuesday
Rolloff containers on 100 Stanton Ave in Mohawk and on B St in New Allouez from Tuesday AM to Thursday AM for customers to drop off their household trash. We ask that customers do not leave trash if the containers are not there. Please respect the owner’s private property.
Allouez, New Allouez - Driver will continue to pick up addresses on US41 and Number 6 Rd between Gator Bar and US-41. Trash must be out by 7am on customer’s service day.


Wednesday

Regarding the Ahmeek Ice Rink: due to some miscommunication, there was some confusion on and off of social media. While the rink is not in risk of immediate closure, there is a very real concern about the longevity of the rink, if the boards are not replaced. The existing boards are in very poor condition, and will not last many more seasons.

We are in a unique position, right now, to ensure the future of the rink. Acquiring and installing a custom set of outdoor rated boards would greatly extend the lifetime of the facility. If the fundraising goals are met, we could have the boards set for next season.

This is the upcoming changes that will be be in effect for 2024. There will be no changes for the days of collection. This information will also be included in with your winter tax bills when those go out.

***Existing sanitation customers do not need to contact Waste Management. They will be sending you a bill.***

For clarification, the Ahmeek Ice Rink is not in danger of closure. The fundraising campaign is for replacement of the boards. The intention is to replace them with quality, outdoor rated, boards designed for the rink.

We just received word from Waste Management that they will be running a day behind this week.
Tuesday pickup will be Wednesday and Wednesday pickup will be Thursday.
