It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Officer Kristen Yeager of the Central Berks Regional Police Department, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on May 29, 2026, while responding to a call for service.
Officer Yeager dedicated her life to protecting others, serving her community with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment. She answered the call that so few are willing to answer, placing the safety of others before her own. Her sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face each day in service to their communities.
Today, we honor Officer Yeager’s life, her service, and her sacrifice. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, fellow officers, and all those whose lives she touched. While words cannot ease the pain of this tremendous loss, we stand united in remembering a devoted public servant, a respected colleague, and a cherished member of our community.
‼️📢 Procession Route 📢‼️
Today’s es**rt procession for Officer Yeager will depart Reading Hospital at 8:00 P.M. The procession will travel Penn Avenue to Route 422 East, exit at Mt. Penn, North on East Neversink Road, West on Perkiomen Avenue, continuing on Howard Blvd, to 22nd Street, and back onto Perkiomen Avenue, to Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Mt. Penn Boro.
For those not participating in the procession, several fire departments and emergency service agencies will be positioned along the route. We encourage everyone to join them in showing their support.
💙💙 We are asking all residents and businesses along the Route 422 and Perkiomen Avenue corridor to turn your lights blue, display blue ribbons, wear blue, and line the route as we bring our sister, Officer Kristen Yeager, home one final time. 💙💙
Please keep Officer Yeager’s family, her brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and all first responders in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch is over, but your service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.
