Good afternoon,

As we bring the school year to a close, we want to remind everyone about traffic safety at each of our school sites. Please remember that the speed limit around schools is 25 miles per hour. There are stop signs that must be obeyed and children trying to cross the street safely. Please slow down and maintain focus while driving. Our students depend on drivers to use caution. We will continue to remind students to obey traffic lights, signs, and to maintain focus while they are either walking or being picked up to go home. Please park only in designated areas, and do not encourage anyone to cross in the middle of the street.

We also want to thank CCPD and KCSO for their assistance during drop-off and pick-up times at our sites.

With just a few weeks left of school, please help us to ensure that everyone stays safe.

Good afternoon,

There are false reports that there was a stabbing at Mojave Elementary School today. There was an altercation between two third graders and one was scratched on the face. The scratch was surface level and the student was taken home by her parents.

Had there been any reason for concern we would have placed the school on a lock down and provided information to parents at the appropriate time.

Good afternoon,

It has come to our attention that some students have suggested a walk out tomorrow at CCHS in protest of ICE activity. While we fully support the right to free speech, please know that this is not a school sponsored or supported walk out. Any student that leaves class and walks off campus will be considered truant, the same as any other time they are not in class when they should be. We also do not have the capacity to supervise students should they choose to walk off campus and are not permitted to “stop” them. If we are able, we will notify parents of who leaves campus so that you are aware. Unfortunately, we may not be able to determine everyone that might leave, depending on what time this may happen.

Please discuss this with your child and review potential consequences and safety. Please ask them to keep in close contact with you so that you know where they are and who they are with.

Good afternoon,
It has come to our attention that unauthorized flyers were being distributed at CCHS during dismissal. These flyers were not being distributed by students nor were they from the school or district. The people who were distributing them were asked to leave and they complied without issue.

This is a reminder that no unauthorized flyers may be distributed on our campuses and anyone distributing any flyers must be at least 200 feet away from any campus. As a district we have a process for approval and that must be followed. Anyone that is on our campus that is not following school rules and district policy will be considered a trespasser and asked to leave.
