If you have not returned your computer to Mojave Elementary, the office is open from 8 AM to 4 PM each weekday thru Friday, June 17.

Mrs. Bailey has four backpacks in her office that students forgot to pickup.

Mojave Elementary Families,

Today was a difficult day, as we all remained home due to a threat of violence against California City High School.

Officers of the California City Police Department are certain they will be able to identify the person or persons responsible for the Instagram posts, and all will be criminally prosecuted.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1, all MUSD schools, including Mojave Elementary School, will be open. We will be on the Wednesday, Minimum Day schedule, with gates opening at 8:20 a.m., and dismissal at 1:30 p.m.

All backpacks and large bags must remain at home. *CARES students will be contacted by their teacher to explain their protocol. Small bags - lunch bags are permitted.

Ultimately, parents will decide if they will send their children to school, or keep them home. If you do keep your child home, call the school's office to confirm the absence.

I deeply appreciate each Mojave Elementary School parent, student, and member of the staff.

Mojave Elementary School and all schools in Mojave Unified will be closed Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Threats of violence to California City High School were posted today on Instagram. The California City Police Department has been working to identify the source, and will now be working with additional law enforcement agencies.

Dr. Aguirre moved to close all schools, focusing on the safety of our students and our employees. The district will continue to coordinate with the California City Police Department and Kern County Sheriff, and will make decisions for subsequent days of school.

All future updates for Mojave Elementary School will be posted immediately on Class Dojo and Facebook.

Respectfully,
Cheryl Bailey

MES, remember to turn in your computer devices, hot spots, and all charging cords!!

MES Families,

Tuesday, May 31, 2022, our students will clean out their desks. Some teachers started this task last Friday.

Students will bring home their class work, projects, and personal items May 31.

Beginning Wednesday, June 1, and continuing to Tuesday, June 7, our final days of the 2021-2022 school year, students may not carry backpacks, or any style of book bag.

Students that bring a lunch or snack may still carry a lunch bag.

A message from the district will go out to homes Tuesday, May 31. This is not meant to restrict individual rights or cause any negative impact.

Thank you all for supporting your child/children, our students, and for your continued support of Mojave Elementary. You entrusted us with the safety of your most precious child during a difficult time. Take the time to look at work that comes home. Reinforce the importance of education, while knowing you are the parent of an incredible child. Mojave Elementary students and parents are the best in the Mojave Unified School District!

I hope everyone remains awesome, and stays safe!

Respectfully,
Mrs. Bailey
MES Principal

Mojave Elementary Parents and Guardians,

Thursday, May 5, 2022, I placed our school in a full lock down, where all students and staff remained inside, with doors secured, for approximately 40 minutes, due to an immediate matter on campus. While I worked with district level staff to address the matter, our teachers and instructional aides engaged students in daily routines and lessons.

If you have further questions, please call the school office, 661-824-2456 to speak with me or to request a meeting.

Dear MES Families,
We would like to make you aware that there was an incident between a couple of parents this morning in the parking lot. We have notified the authorities and reported this incident. Just out of an abundance of caution for our staff and students, we put everyone in a soft lockdown while we investigated this incident. We are vigilant and are following all safety protocols to keep our school community safe!
Thank you!

¡Gracias!
