Mokena Police Department Chief of Police Brian Benton leads the Department and is supported by a command staff that consists of two Commanders and six Sergeants.

Furthering the mission of the Mokena Police Department are twenty-four Patrol Officers, two Detectives, and a non-sworn staff of three Community Service Officers, four general office staff, and two Crossing Guards. The men and women of the Mokena Police Department serve a vibrant community of over 20,000 residents and hundreds of businesses with pride and honor.

**Due to the fact that the Ronald J Grotovsky Mokena Mayor's Golf Outing was rained out, there will raffle baskets available. Tickets will be $20.00 for 25 tickets. Cash only. Winners will be drawn at 7:15pm. Winner must be present.

VILLAGE OF MOKENA BRANCH PICKUP UPDATE:

The last day for branch pickup from the August 11 storm will be Friday, August 28.
Village crews continue to work throughout the community to address widespread storm damage.
If you have tree debris resulting from the August 11 storm, please:
 Place branches in the parkway near the curb.
 Call (708) 479-3900 to request pickup before Friday, August 28.
Please note: Branch pickup is limited to storm-related tree damage. Residents are asked not to cut down or trim additional trees solely for branch removal. The Village’s storm debris collection is intended only for trees and branches damaged by the August 11 storm. Removals done by contractors should be hauled away by the contractor.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and help as crews continue the cleanup effort.

The Mokena Police Department would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the entire Festa Italiana in Mokena Board for their incredible generosity and support of our officers and staff!

Following our officers’ assistance at this year’s Festa Italiana, the Board went above and beyond to show their appreciation by providing an amazing catered lunch for our entire team, with enough food to feed both Day and Night Shift!

Michael Maratea, President, and Sue Rizzo, Secretary, were kind enough to personally help deliver the generous spread, which included beef sandwiches, meatballs, penne with marinara from Buona Italiano, cookies, pop, and water. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Thank you to the entire Festa Italiana Board for taking the time to recognize and appreciate the work our officers do for the community. We are grateful for your continued support and partnership!

🚨 Rapid Deployment & Active Shooter Training 🚨

The Mokena Police Department recently completed three days of Rapid Deployment and Active Shooter Response Training. All members of the department participated in this important training, which focused on improving response tactics, teamwork, communication, and preparedness during critical incidents.

The training was instructed by Sergeant Selin, with assistance from P/O McKenna and P/O Pell. Their knowledge and leadership helped provide our officers with valuable hands-on training designed to prepare them for situations where a quick and coordinated response is essential to protecting our community.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mokena School District 159 for allowing us to utilize their facilities for the training. Partnerships like this are extremely valuable and help ensure our officers are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies in a school environment.

The Mokena Police Department remains committed to continued training and preparation to provide the highest level of service and safety to our community.
