🔥 SMOKE IN THE AREA

Molalla Fire is aware of smoke and haze throughout our area this morning.

The smoke you are seeing and smelling is from the Austin Fire burning just outside of Estacada. Depending on wind conditions, smoke may continue to settle into our area throughout the day.

There is currently no known wildfire threat to the Molalla area associated with this fire.

As always, if you see an active fire please call 911.

We will continue to monitor conditions and share additional information if needed.

Thursday nights at Molalla Fire are for training.
Tonight, our crews conducted an After Action Review (AAR) of one of our recent fires. AARs are powerful learning tools in the fire service because they provide a structured, blame-free opportunity to review real-world performance, identify what went well, and discuss areas where we can improve.
We would like to thank our mutual aid partners who responded to assist on this incident, as well as those who joined us this evening to participate in this valuable review. Sharing perspectives, experiences, and lessons learned helps all of us become better prepared to serve our communities when the next call comes in.
Training never stops, and neither does our commitment to learning, improving, and working together. Thank you to Molalla Police Department for allowing us the use of their facility to accommodate our large group. National Night out has been canceled due to an abundance caution regarding the heat index and air quality. We look forward to celebrate molalla.

Molalla Fire has sent 4 overhead members out on conflagration as a resource of the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office. 2 members to the East Evans Creek Fire, 1 member to the Lower Dry Creek Fire, and 1 member to the Olive Butte Fire. While they are out, we remain fully staffed to serve our community.

On the night of July 4th, while participating in Estacada Fire's annual fireworks event, an Estacada Firefighter sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Portland-area hospital.
This firefighter now faces a long and challenging road to recovery. During this difficult time, we ask our community to come together and support one of our own. The physical, emotional, and financial burdens associated with a traumatic injury can be overwhelming for both the firefighter, fire district and their family.
