Congratulations to our Park Board President, Bill Abel, for being chosen for the City of Moline’s “Caught Caring” Program. This program was created to recognize people who show up for their neighbors and their community without expecting anything in return.
The Director of Parks and Recreation, Eric Griffith, nominated Bill and had this to say:
“I have seen Bill Abel giving back to Moline since I started in March 2020, and I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this award. As President of the Stephens Park Neighborhood Group, he organizes park clean-ups, recruits volunteers, and keeps neighbors informed on City resources. He also serves as President of the Rotary Club Illinois Quad Cities, President of the Moline Parks and Recreation Board, and volunteers with Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Every time I talk with Bill, he’s volunteering for something or helping someone. He truly cares about this City and the people who live here, and his positive attitude makes people want to work alongside him.”
Congrats again, Bill, on a very deserving award!

🍷Calling all wine lovers🍷

Featured restaurants include:

- Corazon Latino Restaurant and Bar
- 5th Avenue Syndicate

Between tastings, enjoy a guided tour of Prospect Park and learn about the history and evolution of one of the Quad Cities’ most iconic parks, from its beginnings in the 1800s to the present day.
