Get ready to sing, clap, and dance along during this visit by award-winning musician and author Jim Gill. Jim Gill’s distinctive music play creates the spirit of a family room concert in the Moline Library Gardens and is an invitation to children, parents and grandparents to sing, dance and play together!

For children birth and up. Please bring blankets or lawn chairs as this event will be out in the Moline Library Gardens.

School may be out, but school meals are still in! Beginning June 4th through July 2nd, free summer lunches will be available at Moline High School for any resident 18 years or younger. Lunches will be served Monday-Friday, from 10:30 - 11:30 am.

Online registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open for current Moline-Coal Valley School District students! Parents should log into their Skyward account and locate the link on the left-hand side of the page, titled "2025-2026 Returning Student Online Enrollment". Click the link and review all steps before clicking the SUBMIT button. Please complete this process as soon as possible, preferably before July 20th.

If Skyward does not allow you to register, you will need to attend District Registration at the Moline High School PE Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd, to verify residency prior to online registration.

Enjoy refreshments and receive a free book to encourage summer reading! There will be books available for Pre-K-12th grade, with some available in Spanish.

Today is National School Principals’ Day, and a time to recognize and celebrate the outstanding leaders of our schools. From helping students achieve more, managing students and teachers, and living up to parents' expectations, the role of a school principal is often underestimated.

Another thing that makes them worthy of recognition is that they started as teachers and climbed their way up to the principal’s seat. They also often substitute for teachers if they have taken leave, and thus know how to engage with students and make the learning process enjoyable. This is what makes the school principal more than just the head of a school, but a true teacher who makes a difference in the lives of students.
