Our mission is to help educate the public about the importance of wildlife and wild places through our unique Wildlife Connection Encounters. Sunset Wildlife Connection is a non-profit 501(c)(3) exotic animal rescue and community outreach program. Wild places, the environment, and animals are struggling to survive in the wild due to human impacts and climate change. Each animal in our environment

is important and we are here to teach you why and what you can do to help wildlife around the world. Through our wildlife encounters, our goal is to share our passion for wildlife and conservation with you in hopes that you will want to also conserve our planet and the amazing animals on it.

Throwback Thursday to when we broke ground on our Wildlife Encounter Center is the fall of 2022. We use this center for education, tours, and training. I love to see some of these old photos of the sanctuary, see how much has changed, and truly see my dreams for the rescue come true.

I am working on some fall and spring projects, so stay tuned to see what we have planned next!

Check out the details below 👇👇

Join Sunset Wildlife Connection in its mission of animal education and wildlife conservation. Located near beautiful Pensacola, Florida, you will work for a nonprofit exotic animal rescue and animal outreach program where you will develop your conservation education skills at our Wildlife Connection Encounters while also caring for exotic animals. Though you must be able to work with all of our different animals, you will get to tailor your internship to your interests, whether it be animal training, reptiles, education, or whatever future career you are looking for.

4-month Animal Care and Outreach Intern: Work 2-3 days a week, 6-hour shifts
Fall 2026- One position open Sept-Dec 2026.
Spring 2027- Applications open June 1, 2026. Deadline to apply is October 1, 2026.

Women and female animals do the coolest things by making new life with their bodies. I’ve learned so much about pregnancy and building a child and how intense the process is. This shoot was a power shoot for me to try and show the strength and beauty that is pregnancy 💪🏼

Animal Training Workshop
⏱: 10am-2pm
💵: $45 per person
📅: November 14th
🙋Ages: 12+ (anyone 12-15 years old must have a participating adult)

SWC is putting on our annual animal training workshop run by co-founder Margaret Lynd. Do you have a dog who needs training? Maybe you want to train your cat, bird, or lizard. Then this is the workshop for you! We will be having a training discussion, including the basics and terminology, watch animal training demonstrations with both domestic and exotic animals, and play the animal training game. You will even get to train an animal here at SWC! Free merch and lunch will be provided. If you are interested in this topic, this is also a great place to network. Enjoy this amazing fall day filled with animals, training, and fun.
