Members of the Momence Fire Protection District recently performed a grain bin rescue training. They simulated a person trapped in a grain bin partially filled with corn. The crew learned how to assemble the rescue tube and to use the auger to remove the corn from inside the tube. This was performed until enough corn was removed to rescue the "victim". Training with this life saving equipment prepares the department for a real life scenario.
Thank you to Abbott Farms and Pioneer Seed for assisting in acquiring the grain bin rescue system.
Thank you to Marcotte Farms and Brian Marcotte for the use of their grain bin and sharing extensive knowledge of grain bins, their operations and possible hazards.

It is that time of year again for the Momence Firefighters Association 30 Day Raffle.

Tickets are available for sale starting this week! Tickets can be purchased through any member of the Momence Firefighters Association.

Tickets will also be for sale at select location in the upcoming week of the Momence Gladiolus Festival. (Times and locations will be posted at a later date).

Tickets will be selected from the Illinois Lottery midday pick 3 drawing during the month of November.
