Step back in time to celebrate America's long tradition of gardening! Join us for this year's garden tour: Gardening Since the Revolution on July 17-18. Explore five beautiful demonstration gardens, enjoy short, informative presentations, meet with local vendors, and learn how historic gardening practices connect with modern, research-based techniques. From preserving vegetables and saving heirloom seeds to dyeing textiles with native and historic plants, this tour has something for every gardener.

On Friday, June 12th, Penn State Extension will be hosting a farm safety day for farmers at the Mercer County 4-H Park.

Topics covered will be ATV/UTV Safety, PTO, Skid steer, and Tractor safety, livestock handling, and much more!

Another great example of collaboration between Penn State Extension and Penn State Beaver! Working with Tall Pines Farms shows how powerful collaborations can be and what can be accomplished together. Students getting experience in the field through implementation of this project but also the connection with the farmer builds workforce development and bridges between producers and students. We are super excited by this project and the continued possibilities of working together to positively affect our communities!

Students from Penn State Beaver and staff from Penn State Extension–Beaver County are helping a local family farm with a water quality project that aims to improve the farm for future generations and potentially improve the water quality of a river downstream of a creek that runs through the farm.
