We have a winner!! The Ward County Sheriff's Office was on hand giving out backpacks at the Odessa College back to school bash on July 30th. A raffle was held for a teacher giveaway, congratulations to Mrs. Sigala!! We also had a special visit from Miss Monahans Maylee Munoz. This week, Sheriff Franco attended the 148th Annual Sheriff’s Association of Texas Training Conference & Expo in Fort Worth, where he had the opportunity to hear from retired U.S. Army First Sergeant Matt Eversmann, whose leadership during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu was portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down.

Eversmann’s message served as a powerful reminder that great leadership is built through preparation, accountability, and a commitment to those you serve. Conferences like these provide invaluable opportunities to learn from experienced leaders, strengthen professional development, and bring back new ideas and best practices to better serve our community.

Continuing education and professional training are essential to effective leadership and public service. Sheriff Franco remains committed to learning, growing, and applying those lessons to better serve and protect the citizens of our county.💙
