A boil water advisory remains in effect for the portion of Berkeley County Water and Sanitation customers impacted by Monday’s water main break. We have been notified by Santee Cooper that the first water test results have passed state safety requirements.

We are awaiting results from the second test, which is expected Friday morning. Until then, please continue to boil your water before drinking. Our Water & Sanitation team will notify customers once the advisory has been lifted.

Please note that not all Berkeley County Water and Sanitation customers are under this advisory. Those who have been impacted have been notified.

We want to thank everyone for their patience as our partners work to resolve this. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.

Berkeley County Water and Sanitation customers affected by the water main break are still under a boil water advisory. Please continue boiling any water used for drinking, cooking, brushing your teeth, or any other activities that may cause you to ingest water.

⚠️ Not every BCWS customer is impacted. These customers have been contacted directly.

The waterline that conveys water to our system has been repaired and samples were collected and sent to a lab for analysis. The testing takes 24-hours to complete. Once the test results confirm the water is safe, the boil water advisory will be lifted.
