This beautiful Giant Silk Moth was climbing up a Hackberry tree in the parking lot today. With a lifespan of 1 year, they only spend a week or two as adults. Solely to mate and lay eggs, they don’t even eat in this stage! Known for their beautiful eyespots and wingspan, we stopped to admire this specimen at the end of its duties.

We’re just 2 days away from our Native Plant Festival! This event will be held rain or shine. Unfortunately, April Punsalan with the Wild Herb Academy is unable to attend, but we’re excited to welcome The Hell Hole Naturalist, Jeff Jackson, who will be leading a nature walk for us instead!
The gates open at 9 a.m., and we’ll have a variety of vendors ready to sell their plants. Coffee and food vendors are listed below:
