A special thanks to Anders Gyllenhaal for this wonderful write up of his experience with me on one of my tours. He was able to get some great photos.

The secret to protecting wildlife isn't all that complex: Give birds a healthy habitat and they will thrive.

I Love these beautiful first days of Fall. The day started out in my brother's office for a brisk early morning fishing trip. Fortunately didn't take long for the Sun to warm us up & the fishing was downright hot! Kept a few for dinner. These trips are always a blast and Greg's an awesome guide & the proof is his daily pictures/reports. Just remember to bring your cooler! Wanna fish? ....here's the link.

Had a quick lunch then it was off to my office. I had a great crew and we had a nice tour in this picture perfect weather. Some of the trees are starting to look like they've been painted. Going to be a pretty leaf change on the lake this year for sure.

Our Fall schedules are pretty full... we do have a few spots left so feel free to reach out for availability.

Thanks, Cpt Dave

Well it l looks like I'm overdue for an update here! I am happy to say I'm in my 17th season & in the midst of beating my all time trip totals for any season! But being busy is no excuse for not posting here on FB. ...So to remedy my lack of correspondence I've decided to post a couple of pictures along with a short video of my opening speil (a customer kindly provided the latter from their tour) & in watching it I realized that although many things have changed in my business & on the lake these past 17 years, a few things have always remained the same. My greeting for Jordan Lake tours is the same one used since the beginning of all this in 2006.

Another thing that has remained the same are the wonderful people that accompany me on the lake during my seasons. I have thanked God every time I've stepped foot on the boat for this opportunity & my ability to show off his splendor to you. You're kind words & reviews over the years have motivated me to make the tours even better. It is through your generous word of mouth that I don't have to waste money in advertising.

I'm so appreciative & I thank you all.

Respectfully yours, Captain Dave

This was my 15th year doing tours on Jordan lake & it was my best season to date! This was extra sweet considering last year was my worst because of the "damnpemick"... I've had the privilege of getting my retirement communities back out on the lake, as well as many wonderful families/friends, & of course my trusted regulars. I know I say it often on the boat... but I'm thankful to God that I get to do what I do for a living, & it's a wonderful feeling waking up happy on the days that I get to show off the many splenders of the lake.

Several of my tours included a trip to the osprey nest in the cypress tree where we got a bird's eye view of three babies. From the time they hatched, to the time they took flight they easily became the most photographed birds at the lake. (Some even managed selfies with the osprey in the background). Several folks got to check out the beaver kits when they first came out of the lodge to explore their surroundings. & a few lucky ones witnessed the osprey losing their lunch to their nemesis, ...the Bald eagle. & on that note I've never seen as many bald eagles as I have this year. (And that is saying a lot).

All that being said a recent tour just "took the cake"! One of my favorite regulars Judy Hunter & husband Ken are considered part of my frequent flyers club...lol. On one of their excursions a guest on board made pound cake. I broke my "no cake rule" on the boat to accept a slice to take home with me for dinner, ...which I enjoyed immensely! Knowing this Judy had told her friend & during another great tour they surprised me with a full-sized pound cake & card with very thought out messages from her crew, ...& last but not least a beautiful song literally sung by one of her guests about coming on my tours!

So many thanks to all of the wonderful people I've met over these past 15 years & I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming seasons!

Dave

I heard about a couple of Roseate spoonbills being seen on lake Lynn in Raleigh.
Well.... Yesterday (September 24th), we were fortunate enough to get a visit ourselves along the Haw River side of Jordan lake. Going to have to break out my good camera & try and catch this one again...
