This was my 15th year doing tours on Jordan lake & it was my best season to date! This was extra sweet considering last year was my worst because of the "damnpemick"... I've had the privilege of getting my retirement communities back out on the lake, as well as many wonderful families/friends, & of course my trusted regulars. I know I say it often on the boat... but I'm thankful to God that I get to do what I do for a living, & it's a wonderful feeling waking up happy on the days that I get to show off the many splenders of the lake.
Several of my tours included a trip to the osprey nest in the cypress tree where we got a bird's eye view of three babies. From the time they hatched, to the time they took flight they easily became the most photographed birds at the lake. (Some even managed selfies with the osprey in the background). Several folks got to check out the beaver kits when they first came out of the lodge to explore their surroundings. & a few lucky ones witnessed the osprey losing their lunch to their nemesis, ...the Bald eagle. & on that note I've never seen as many bald eagles as I have this year. (And that is saying a lot).
All that being said a recent tour just "took the cake"! One of my favorite regulars Judy Hunter & husband Ken are considered part of my frequent flyers club...lol. On one of their excursions a guest on board made pound cake. I broke my "no cake rule" on the boat to accept a slice to take home with me for dinner, ...which I enjoyed immensely! Knowing this Judy had told her friend & during another great tour they surprised me with a full-sized pound cake & card with very thought out messages from her crew, ...& last but not least a beautiful song literally sung by one of her guests about coming on my tours!
So many thanks to all of the wonderful people I've met over these past 15 years & I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming seasons!
