With school back in session, we want to remind everyone to slow down, put away distractions, and pay attention.

Watching for school buses picking up children, children crossing streets, and watching your speed in school zones.

These simple things keep everyone safe.

We wish everyone a safe 2026-2027 school year!!

Buffalo County would like your voice to help shape our future.

Every few years, we get a chance to speak up about what our local families and community needs. The Compass Now 2027 Survey is open right now, and it is 100% anonymous. Your name, tracking data, and identity are completely protected. Our team at the Buffalo County Health Department is partnering with Great Rivers United Way, local hospitals, and community organizations to bring this survey to our area. We group everyone's feedback together so we can build a strong foundation for local action plans that address long-term community needs.

How to take the survey:
📱 On your phone/tablet: Scan the QR code on the attached flyer with your phone's camera to open it instantly.
Or learn more here: https://www.greatriversunitedway.org/programs-partnerships/community-health/community-needs-assessment/
📄 On paper: If you prefer a printed version, just call the Buffalo County Health Department at 608-685-4412 and we will get one to you.

Want to win a $50 grocery gift card? 🛒To thank you for your time, you can choose to enter a drawing for one of three $50 grocery gift cards just for Buffalo County residents!
How it stays private: The survey itself is completely anonymous. If you choose to enter the raffle at the very end, you will be asked to provide your contact info—but that information is kept entirely separate from your survey answers. Your privacy is completely safe. Take 15 minutes to tell it like it is and help look out for our community.

We are only several days away from Cops and Bobbers and the weather is looking perfect! We wanted to give everyone a heads up for the event. It will be from 1-5 on Sunday. 1-3:30 will be fishing and 3:30-5 will be prizes/raffle and a K9 demo.

Entry is $10 and includes free bait. There will be several different age brackets for the kids with the max age being 16.

An update on location, due to the pavilion being rented we will be set up just down the road near the playground.

We will have raffles available to enter! Which you will not need to be present to win. We will also have Chewy merchandise for sale. Karl’s Bar-B-Q Express will be set up with food for purchase! There will be several other booths set up from different organizations that are attending. Pre-registration is not mandatory!

We do have several fishing poles and tackle available for use! Can’t wait to see you all there!

Included are some pictures of the prizes.

Thank you to all the donors and businesses that contributed to our event!
