Monessen Communities That Care

Founded on July 01, 2001

Monessen Communities That Care (CTC) is a community-based delinquency prevention initiative which began on July 01, 2001 and serves under the state administration of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Our prevention efforts have been guided by the Communities That Care model for reducing prevalent problem behaviors among

our youth. Use of the CTC Social Development Strategy has also provided the necessary opportunities, skills and recognition for reinforcing positive youth development. This same strategy offers the framework for youth to bond with caring adults in the community who model healthy beliefs and clear standards with the end result of increasing healthy behaviors among our youth. Our first two 4H Leader Reader storytelling sessions are officially in the books, and what an incredible start it has been! Our Youth Council teens have been doing an amazing job stepping into leadership roles, sharing their voices, and bringing stories to life for our littles at Monessen Elementary. ✨

From expressive reading to building connections, it’s been so special to watch these moments unfold. Not only are our younger students enjoying every story, but our teens are also growing in confidence, creativity, and leadership with each session.

We’re so proud of the energy, dedication, and positivity everyone is bringing to this experience. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see all the memories, growth, and smiles that are still to come! 📚💛
