Last night, Monett K9 Jax and Monett K9 officers assisted the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and other area agencies in locating a wanted suspect in Verona.

The suspect, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, fled from a residence. Jax tracked and located him, and officers took him into custody. No injuries were reported during the incident.

We appreciate the teamwork among our area law enforcement agencies. This deployment is an example of how Monett’s K9 program supports our officers and neighboring communities.

Good work, Jax, and everyone involved!

🚒🚓 What a wonderful evening at our First Responder Citizen Appreciation Night! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a night of family fun and a chance to spend time with our local first responders.

🏆 The highlight of the evening was presenting our 2026 Community Service Award to the Tom Wolfe Memorial VFW Post 4207 in Monett. Post Commander Jason George accepted the award on behalf of the post in recognition of its continued support of the Monett Police and Fire Departments, including last year’s major contribution to Shop with a Cop.
