Last Friday, we had the honor of recognizing our newest Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and celebrating their contributions to Monett athletics.

From outstanding athletic achievements to years of dedication, leadership, and service, each of our inductees has helped shape the history and tradition of Monett athletics. Their stories remind us of the hard work, perseverance, and commitment that make being a Cub so special.

Thank you to our inductees, their families, friends, coaches, and everyone who joined us for this special occasion.

Once a cub, always a cub! The love of music doesn't end at graduation, and last night was a perfect example of that!

A large group of current Monett students and alumni gathered at Juanita K. Hammons Hall to enjoy a choir concert featuring two of our very own Monett alumni! Even more special, the group represented graduating classes from 2019 all the way through 2034!

One of our district music department’s goals is to inspire lifelong musicianship, and last night was a beautiful reminder that the love of music continues long after graduation.“Monett High School, here’s a toast to thee!” 🎶💜

🎨✂️ Creativity was on full display in first grade at MES! Students drew and colored their own characters, then brought them to life with some seriously crazy hair by curling and folding colorful strips of paper.

This art project was a fun way to practice creativity, fine motor skills, and a little imagination along the way!

We recently received photos from this spring’s Southwest Center Celebration of Schools, and we’re glad to share a few moments from the evening!

Monett was represented by staff from across the district as we recognized individuals nominated for the Outstanding Achievement Award, Teacher of the Year, and Friend of Education Award.

Each nomination reflects the dedication, care, and commitment these individuals bring to our students, schools, and community. We are grateful for the many people who make a difference in Monett Schools each day, including those who were unable to attend the event.

Congratulations to all of our nominees, and thank you for the impact you continue to make!

Our GO CAPS students took learning beyond the classroom during a recent visit to Leadership Ranch!

Through a variety of team challenges, students practiced communicating clearly, working together, solving problems, and adapting when things did not go as planned. After each activity, camp volunteers helped students reflect on what they learned and how those same skills will serve them in college, careers, and beyond.

Experiences like these give students a chance to strengthen important Profile of a Cub skills, including being a Collaborator, Communicator, and Thinker.

We will not have school on Monday, October 12, due to staff professional development.

We hope our students and families enjoy the three-day weekend! We'll see everyone back in school on Tuesday, October 13.

Chorale is celebrating its Gold Rating from the Spring 2026 State Large Ensemble Contest. The students pictured helped earn this recognition through performances of two prepared pieces and sight reading at the contest.

This accomplishment is especially impressive considering last year’s Chorale was made up largely of freshmen and students who were new to choir.

The plaque will now be displayed in the PAC lobby, and we look forward to seeing more years added to it in the future! Congratulations, Chorale! 🎵

Our students are building important life skills by learning how to follow step-by-step instructions to make a peanut butter sandwich!

This hands-on activity gave students a fun way to practice listening, sequencing, and following directions. And the best part? They got to enjoy their sandwiches once the assignment was complete! 🥪
