LINCOLN COUNTY EMA PRESS RELEASE

Procedure for reporting damages from the January 9-10, 2024 Storm

Individuals, homeowners, small businesses, and agriculture are welcome to submit their
damages to the state, using the forms, etc. below:

Individuals & Households Initial Damage Assessment Survey (online survey): So we can capture damages successfully

https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/9d30851ba5e448fbb099592ed09e31cc?open=menu
Any and all inquiries and/or damage submissions from members of Maine’s fishing community should be
directed to: [email protected] This will serve as the intake resource for the 10 Jan
storm.

Business and Agriculture Initial Damage Assessment Survey (online form):

http://survey123.arcgis.com/share/f72826c1e40d4420ad89934b553c0e82?open=menu
For business and agriculture damages, the only option is to fill out the online survey.

If you struggle with the forms or survey and need someone to do it for you, contact 211 Maine (just dial
211 from anywhere in Maine) and they will go through the questions with you and submit it for you.

Keep in mind that submitting a survey or a PDF form is NOT an application for assistance. There is no
guarantee any assistance will be available to you. The purpose of submitting your damages is to help the
state determine whether there are enough damages to seek a Federal disaster declaration.

Damages from the 1/9-10/2024 storm must be submitted by January 18 to be included in the totals for
determining whether the state has enough damages to get a FEMA disaster declaration.

For more information, go to: https://www.maine.gov/mema/grants/individual-assistance-grant-program

If you have video and/or photos of storm damage you are willing to share, please send them to: [email protected]

Residents and community members,

Due to damage at the wharf from the Wednesday's storm,
Tomorrow's boat, Thursday January 11th, is cancelled. The next boat will be coming on Friday, January 12th.

As some of you may have already heard and may have seen, a massive storm surge pushed the freight shed off its foundation towards the Barnacle, disrupting electrical service to the shed, wharf and most of the surrounding structures. This was the cause of the island wide electrical service interruption today.
Tomorrow, work to repair and restore electrical service to the wharf area will begin, so we ask that you avoid the wharf and Wharf Hill Road altogether to allow us to focus on the repair and cleanup.

Regarding Friday's boat: The current position of the Freight Shed will not allow the usual truck traffic on the wharf, only a very narrow area exists between the shed and Barnacle. If you are departing on, picking up, or dropping off anyone/anything on Fridays boat we ask that you plan accordingly to walk down, or get a ride and allow yourself enough time to unload your items and leave the wharf area in a timely manner. Friday is a trash day, so navigating the area and parking will be a challenge.

Please share this notice and look out for more information. Email or call with any questions.
